Hell Is Other Monsters

Venice Beach, 1966. Frankenstein (a.k.a. Frank Steinman) and his other washed-up has-been actor friends, the fellow Universal monsters, all live together in a crumbling mansion. They have more or less retired from acting, work soul-crushing odd jobs, and are being driven crazy by each other, their drug habits, and the mundanity of day-to-day life. Frank, longing for happier times, decides to start a TV variety show with his buddies, seeing as their old horror films have gained a second wind through being shown on television, and he believes they could be big again, just like the old days. Frank’s ex-Bride, Elsie, is friends with late-night television host Vampira; he believes that Elsie can put in a good word for him and his friends by talking to Vampira about it. There’s just one problem: Elsie hates Frank’s guts and after the hell he put her through in the divorce, she really doesn’t have any reason to help him. Frank needs to find a way to get back into Elsie’s good graces. But how?
